Hi,
My first day on this site and i find out more info on the subjects i am pay a Pro for i NZ.
I like the slow mo which shows what position to be in at different stages of the swing.
One interesting statement , start the down swing with the hands and arms.
Every article in the golf mags say to start with the hip bump and turn.??
Great site.
Sandy
I think by starting down just a few inches with your hands and arms in unison you get into the slot nicely without getting so eager that you start hitting from the top too soon or moving your body ahead of your hands and arms. It makes for a more consistent, smoother acceleration through impact...well that works for me anyway
Steve may not look like your typical golf coach; in fact he looks more like a rock star than a golf coach! But don't let that detract from what he can do to help you play better golf. He has spent the past 35 years or more improving the golf swings of countless golfers, from world class professionals, to leading amateurs and recreational golfers like you and me. Next time you are in London pay them a visit - they only charge £45 for 1/2 hour which is a bargain for one of the country's top golf coaches.
I agree - and although the idea of hitting balls into a net in a converted squash court in the basement of a Georgian mansion block may sound a little odd, it is very effective. Their approach allows you to concentrate on making the swing changes you need to without focusing on where the ball is going. Once you have successfully made the technical changes necessary to improve your swing, then you can concentrate on further refinement and can narrow down your shot pattern.
Leading European Sports Mind Coach Karl Morris recommends this approach to learning in this golf practice video. It's an approach that professional golfers use successfully and one that will work for you too.
