Train Like A Tour Pro - 1 Day Personal Tuition From Sandy Jamieson One of the World's Leading Golf Coaches

The coaching is undertaken at the magnificent Selsdon Park Hotel and Golf Course in Surrey.
Private Coach for a Day
Over lunch, in the fantastic Selson Park Hotel, you and Sandy can discuss your individual program for the afternoon.
The three hour afternoon session is meticulously planned to give you a pathway to helping you achieve your desired goals. Whether it be putting, chipping, pitching, the full swing, the mental game, bunker play or strategy, or a combination of several factors; you can take to the practice area under the guidance and direction of a coach who has contributed to the development of some of the best players in world golf.
Sandy is your private coach for the day, he has worked on all aspects of the game with some of the leading talent on the Australian, European and US Tours; he can do more your game in 24 hours than you could do spending weeks on the practice range yourself! The full day, which includes at least 6 hours of coaching, green fees and lunch costs just £720.
You will get the maximum benefit out of a day with Sandy if it is done on a personal 1-2-1 basis. However, if you do want to learn with your partner, a friend or a couple of friends, then extra golfers can participate in the Train Like a Tour Pro day at an additional cost of £100 per person with a maximum of 4 golfers.
There are a limited number of days available in 2009.
To book your session, before they run out, then call 0208 977 4465 or email coaching@dizzyheights.com.

On Wednesday 4th March 2009 Sandy and I met up at my club, Hampton Court Palace, for the "Train like a Golf Pro Day". I have to admit that it wasn't easy to decide to pay that amount for a day's golf tuition but my reasoning went like this: If I want to accelerate my golf then doing this with a Pro's coach had to be good starting place, condensing it into an intensive days coaching would be fun and hopefully challenging (it was) and if Robert Allenby's coach can't improve my swing - what hope do I have anyway!! So treating it like the golf-equivalent of a Formula 1 track day, I decided you get what you pay for and booked it with Sandy.
We arranged to met at 7:30 am which I think was easier for Sandy, than me, as he was still suffering from jetlag having just come back from Australia, but I woke feeling like it was Christmas morning.....a day off work and the decadence of a day's golf with a pro coach was something I was really looking forward to.
Having first met for a coffee and gone through my golf goals, Sandy asked me some questions about my job and golf history; then we went down to the range to warm up. After some stretches and some hits we went on to the back 9 holes so we had plenty of space to ourselves. As you'd expect we talked about the holes and how to approach them but also about the effect the temperature has on the ball, shafts and club selection. We also talked about ball's compression effect on judging distance, a few eye-openers there for me and a few more shots in my mind for the next time I find myself around the green. Bunker shots and playing to your natural shape were all covered as where putting and chipping but all of it in a very friendly atmosphere (Sandy is your typical sport loving Aussie and loves to relate the swing back to other sports, which helped me a lot as I'd played a lot of cricket and baseball/softball in the past). We also covered the mental approach to the game - nothing too scientific but enough to set the right focus on the course.
By 10:30 am we'd finished the back nine and both had an early lunch whilst Sandy went through my golf swing on his laptop (he'd recorded it and compared it to other golfers' swings - like Robert's). With lunch done we hit the range for some drills and to practice the new swing shape. I'm pleased to say that he'd found a swing solution that was not only effective but also easy to relate to. I'd not had any coach even approach my swing from that perspective and so was interested in the results. By around 3 pm we went in for something to drink and a review of the day. I was pretty exhausted by that time but still itching to hit some more balls. That evening Sandy sent me a summary of the things we discussed and a suggestion of what stats to capture so that I can measure improvement objectively.
I know it’s a cliché, but the next time I played I knocked 3 shots off my best score and really felt there was at least another 4 or 5 shots left on the course.
All-in-all a great day and something I'd recommend to anyone who'd be interested in some accelerated improvement and a fun day on the course.
