An Introduction to Golf Fitness Routines

Ramsay is one of the world's leading authorities on golf and the body.  He runs the Melbourne Golf Injury Clinic in Australia and has worked with players on every professional tour worldwide.

The following pages contain extracts from his PocketshotsTM lesson "Get Fit For Golf" which you can buy for £3.99 plus postage and packing from our online golf store.

These pages share with you Ramsay's experience of working with the world’s leading tour pros and coaches and give you some very simple exercises that will help your mobility, stability and overall posture and give you a good chance of consistently finding the right swing positions.

Good golf requires dynamic and athletic movements for a sustained period of time. By warming up effectively, staying ‘warm’ throughout your round and warming down correctly afterwards you stand a good chance of preventing injury and playing better, more consistent golf.

For the next few weeks try and give yourself a little more time to try these exercises before starting your round. Managing your time will mean there is no rushing to the golf course, thus reducing tension and anxiety levels and a more fluent and effective routine will maximise your ability once on the course.

Remember you need to:

Warm-Up - Before golf
Warm-On - During golf
Warm-Down - After golf
