Bad Manners on the Golf Course
Isn't it about time that everyone learning the game is made to have one round with the Pro to teach them the basic rules of etiquette and how to behave on the golf course?
Here's what happened on a recent round which left a sour taste in my mouth after what had up until then been a really enjoyable round of golf:
I was playing Leukopf golf club in Johannesburg South Africa and my round was ruined by the group infront on the 18th! Having played the par 3 hole, they proceeded to have a lengthy debate for several minutes (no exaggeration) about Lord knows what, whilst we waited on the tee, with the light closing in around us and a rather dangerous looking storm with thunder and lightning approaching. Not exactly where you want to be after what was already a 5 hour round!
We were soon joined by the group behind who were equally bemused (and upset - boy those South African Okes can use some colourful language!) by one chap walking back to the front bunker and demonstrating how we had played the shot!
Needless to say, my misery was then compounded by hastily hitting an iron (the second the last person's foot had left the putting surface) over the back of the green (over the group walking off so I had to shout fore) and taking a 5 (lost ball) when a par would have broken 80!!
I don't normally get angry but boy was I spitting feathers! Of course being a true English gentleman I didn't say a word to the group in front!
Anyone else had bad experiences with etiquette (or rather lack of it) ruining a round?

How about when men won't let women golfers playing behind them through when they are holding us up....even though we are clearly much better than them!
