Schwartzel to win a Major in 2009?
Last time I spoke to legendary European Tour coach Pete Cowen about Charl Schwartzel he indicated that he thought this South African star was one of a number of players that he coaches that has the ability to win a Major or two. After his 3rd European Tour win at the Madrid Masters I think there is every chance that he can now cement his place at the upper echelons of the game. I for one am going to put £20 on him winning a Major next year - if I can find some decent odds anywhere. What does everything else think? Who is going to win the Majors in 2009 in Tiger's absence?

I'd say that Schwartzel has a chance @ a major this year. Not sure which one, though. Can't wait for the Masters this year! Except, I have to work actually during most of the tournament! A friend of mine told me that they're streaming the Masters on CBSSports.com. I looked it up today and it turns out they are! Here's a link for them to notify you when the streams are live: http://www.cbssports.com/golf/tournaments/masters/video
Schwartzel has got to have a chance - he's won a couple of times on tour now and definitely has what it takes to be a major champion - with a bit of luck 2009 could be his year.
I'm not sure he's got the experience yet -but he's certainly got the looks
Are you saying he really the best South African at the moment? What about Els? Or Immelman as he has already won a major?
What about Tim Clark and that gob sh**e Sabbatini?
